Wedding Wishes

Whew...this week is flying by! How is it Wednesday already? Why is it that holidays pass so quickly? I still have so much on my To-do list and the week is half over. Time to get cracking. I sure hope you are having a more productive week than I thus far!
Today I have a pretty wedding card I designed for my All-occasions card buffet next week.

I used products from the Falling In Love Suite to put this card together. I love the way that Stampin' Up! offers these suites of products that coordinate beautifully to make designing super quick and easy. Here I began with a Very Vanilla card stock panel that I embossed using the Falling Petals TIEF. I layered that on some silver foil card stock, but before I did, I die-cut a heart to use for matting behind the sentiment. The DSP heart is die-cut from one of the lacy patterns in the Falling in Love DSP. For both the DSP and the silver foil hearts I used the Sweet and Sassy Framelits.

The sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set. It and the frame around it are heat embossed in silver. I then die-cut the detailed floral strip using the So Detailed Thinlit dies. Sooo pretty!

I added a Falling in Love embellishment and a couple of rhinestones for some sparkle and mounted the entire panel on a Sahara Sand card stock base.

On the inside I added a Very Vanilla card stock panel on which I heat embossed a sentiment from the Floral Phrases stamp set in silver.

I think this will be a popular choice at my buffet next week! Now to get busy prepping ;)

A Golden Anniversary

This past Saturday my parents celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. FIFTY YEARS of wedded bliss! That just boggles my mind! While we aren't having their big party until this weekend, I thought I would show you the card I made for them, which we also just happen to be making at my Floral Bouquet Suite class this week.

I sort of CASE'd the catalogue for this one, but added the belly band. In order for this fold to work, you need to start with a 4-1/4" x 12" piece of card stock. Score the 12" length at 3-1/4" from either end. That way the finished card ends up being 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  I ran each flap through the Big Shot with the Detailed Floral Thinlits.

I glued a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Floral Boutique DSP to the larger flap to give it some stability and to cover the message on the inside of the card. Here is what the inside looks like.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the Floral Phrases stamp set in Night of Navy ink and added a heat embossed golden congratulations from the Timeless Love set.

The belly band is just a 1-1/4" x 12" piece of Night of Navy card stock that I wrapped around the card and secured with Fast Fuse. I added some 5/8" gold Satin Ribbon for some shimmer. The floral image is from the Floral Phrases set and the sentiment is from the Timeless Love set. I die cut both the Whisper White scalloped circle and the gold foil circle behind it using the Layering Circles Framelits.

I hope this project will be a fitting tribute to an amazing couple AND a hit at my class. Gotta love when a project does double duty!

It's my Anniversary!

Six years ago today I made a decision that changed my life. I signed up to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator to "save money" on my crafting habit. My husband told me in no uncertain terms that I was NOT to take on another job. Yeah...sure honey ;)
Today I have a thriving small business that is paying my son's private school tuition each month! Who knew that one little decision could lead to so much? I have met people who have become life-long friends who have enriched my life in ways I can't even begin to describe. I have discovered how much I LOVE showing people how to tap into a creative they didn't even know they had. What a crazy, busy ride it is, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
To celebrate my big day, I have a special card for you...

I know you might this hard to believe, but this card is SUPER quick and easy. That gorgeously intricate floral design is courtesy of the new Detailed Floral Thinlits. Isn't it stunning? I simply die cut a piece of Dapper Denim card stock and then layered it over a piece of Whisper White card stock and then matted it on another piece of Dapper Denim.  The card is built on a Thick Whisper White card stock base.

The sentiment, in that lovely script, is from the coordinating Floral Phrases stamp set.The only embellishment needed on this pretty project is some silver 1/4" NaturalTrim, which adds just a hint of sparkle.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment and a floral image from the Floral Phrases set in Dapper Denim ink. So simple, yet so elegant.

Thanks for stopping by on my special day...I hope yours is fabulous!
