Monday Sympathy

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was crazy as always AND I came down with another sinus cold. Seriously? How does one get the same cold twice in a month?? Ugh! Here's hoping this one is short-lived.
Today I have a card I designed for a class I have coming up later this week that features the Rose Wonder bundle:

Sympathy card featuring the Rose Wonder stamp set.
I broke out my aquapainter and ink pads to watercolour this image. I used Basic Gray Archival ink to stamp the image and heat set it with my heat tool. Then I coloured the rose with Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder inks. The leaves were done in Old Olive and Wild Wasabi. Finally I did a light wash for the background using Soft Sky ink. I love how easy and forgiving watercolouring is! I added some spatters of embossed gold as well as gold around the edges of the front panel.

The card base is Kraft card stock. I stamped the leaf portion of the rose stamp using Soft Suede ink and then sponged around the edges of the card base before adhering the watercoloured panel. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and die-cut using the Rose Garden Thinlits.

On the inside I stamped another of the sentiments from the Rose Wonder set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.

Thanks for starting your week with me...hope it's a good one!

Happy Birthday Balloons

Happy Tuesday! It feels like Monday here, as yesterday was a holiday for us here in Ontario. It sure was nice to have the extra day off!
Today is a big day...it marks the launch of NEW Sale-a-bration products! Are you excited??  I sure am! Want to see what's new?  Click the brochure to see the new offerings:

Today I have a project that uses some fabulous products from the Birthday Bouquet Suite, as well as the Balloon Celebration Bundle.

Birthday card featuring the Balloon Celebration stamp set and coordinating Balloon Bouquet punch.
I began with a piece of Whisper White card stock, embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF. I added some banners cut from Birthday Bouquet DSP. The balloons are stamped in Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron ink and then heat embossed in silver. I used the Balloon Bouquet punch to punch the stamped balloons, as well as some from silver glimmer paper for some additional sparkle.

The sentiment is heat embossed in silver and punched using the Washi Label punch. The only additional embellishment was some gorgeous Pool Party 3/8" glitter ribbon...LOVE that stuff!
Here's another shot from the side, showing how I layered the balloons with dimensionals...

I hope you have a fantastic week...it will be a short one for me...wahoo!

So Sweet

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you get to spend time today with those you love. It's also Sunday, which means it's time for a new sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps!

Here is my take on it using the Apple of my Eye stamp set:

Thank you card featuring the Apply of my Eye stamp set.
The best thing about this sketch is how versatile it is! Check out the rest of the Design Team's projects and you'll see what I mean. For my project I began with some Basic Gray card stock that I embossed using the Happy Heart TIEF. I layered it on a piece of Crushed Curry card stock before adhering it to a thick Whisper White card stock base. The banners are from the Have a Cuppa DSP stack...SO many fun patterns in there! I used the Triple Banner Punch on the end of each piece of DSP to create my banners.

The lemon slice image is from the Apple of my Eye stamp set and is stamped in Crushed Curry ink. I stamped the sentiment right over top using Basic Gray ink. I used the 1-3/4" circle punch to punch it out and then layered it on a 2" silver foil circle. I added some silver metallic thread and a few It's My Party Enamel Dots.

On the inside I stamped the lemon slice again, this time stamping off once before stamping inside the card. I added another sentiment in Basic Gray ink. Super quick and easy! I need to make lots more of these, as my supply of Thank You cards is getting embarrassingly low!
Be sure to give this sketch a try and share it with us over at Sunday Stamps...we'd love to see your creation!
