Blooms for You

Happy Saturday...are you surprised to hear from me? I don't usually post on Saturdays, but since I've got an extra-long weekend, I thought I would show you this pretty card I designed for my upcoming Birthday Bouquet Suite class next week.

Mother's Day card featuring products from the Birthday Bouquet Suite.
This class is all about soft and pretty flowers. I love the images in the Birthday Blooms stamp set and wanted to highlight a few of them on this project. I began with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Mint Macaron card base on which I stamped the large flower image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set in Mint Macaron ink. I added a strip of Birthday Bouquet DSP in the pink striped pattern. The label is die-cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits from another pattern in the Birthday Bouquet pack. I added some gold metallic thread before adhering it to my card.

The flower is heat embossed in gold on Whisper White card stock. I coloured it using an Aqua Painter filled with rubbing alcohol and my Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron ink pads. I then fussy-cut the flower with my paper snips. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold on Whisper White card stock and punched using the 1-3/4" circle punch. I layered it on an off-set gold metallic foil doily. Both the flower and the sentiment are adhered to the card using dimensionals. The final touch was some Blushing Bride enamel accents from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit...they have such subtle sparkle to them!

Inside view with sentiment from the Greatest Greetings stamp set.
On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I heat embossed in gold the sentiment from the Greatest Greetings stamp set and the flower image from the front of the card.

I love the softness of this project...I hope my class participants will too!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new colour challenge from Sunday Stamps! Have a happy Saturday!

Hello Chickie

Well, today is an unexpected snow day for us here in Southern Ontario, as we are experiencing a pretty severe ice storm. Lots of icy streets and downed power lines! I thought I'd take the opportunity to  show you a quick and cute project I designed a while back using the Honeycomb Happiness Sale-a-bration stamp set...

Hello Card featuring the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set.
This is a super-CAS card, but I love it! That little chick is too adorable, and with Easter fast-approaching, a great option for adorning Easter treats. To create this card I began by stamping the chick image in Basic Black ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. Then I also stamped him on a scrap of Crushed Curry card stock. I fussy-cut the Crushed Curry image and then adhered it to the Whisper White one. I coloured in the beak and feet using a Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write marker. For his chubby belly, I spritzed a white Honeycomb Embellishment using rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Crushed Curry reinker. Once it was dry, I adhered the embellishment to the paper-pieced chick.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink and adhered using a dimensional. I added some Basic Black Baker's Twine and a button from the Regals Designer Buttons collection. I matted the front panel on a piece of Basic Black card stock and then adhered it to a card base of thick Whisper White card stock. I left the inside of this one blank to allow lots of space to write my own message.

This sweet stamp set is going away forever very soon! Sale-a-bration ends one week from today...don't miss out on the chance to get your hands on exclusive products. Place your qualifying order of $50 USD/$60 CAD before it is too late.

Wedding Blooms

Happy Monday...and happy first full day of Spring! I hope you had a great weekend. I am back to work today after March Break...always a little bit tougher to get out of bed the first day back after a week off!

This morning I have a project I designed last weekend as I was playing with the Botanical Builder Framelits...

Wedding Card featuring the Botanical Builder Framelit dies with sentiment from the Suite Sayings stamp set.
Now, I didn't set out to make a wedding card when I first sat down to design this, but it sort of evolved into one. I began by embossing a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Lovely Lace TIEF. Then layered a piece of It's My Party DSP (it's not just for birthdays, you know!) which I had die-cut using the edge die from the Botanical Builders Framelits. I added several flowers die-cut from Whisper White card stock. I added shimmer to each bloom using the clear Wink of Stella glitter brush.

The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set and is stamping in Smokey Slate ink. I punched the stamped image using the 1-3/4" circle punch and then layered it on Smokey Slate and Mint Macaron card stock circles. I added some strings of pearls from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit and some self-adhesive basic pearls. The entire card is built on a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Mint Macaron card base.

Inside view with sentiment from the For the New Two stamp set.
On the inside, I stamped a Whisper White panel using Smokey Slate ink and a sentiment from the For the New Two stamp set. I added a little flower punched using the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, as well as a few more pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today...I hope you have a great week!
