Last night I held the first of three consecutive birthday card buffets. My guests had a great time...one of them even brought her fiance so that he could practice stamping in preparation for making their wedding invitations! He did a fantastic job, making 5 different designs in three hours...talk about a keeper! Today I have another of the projects that was on offer...
This project was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest by Amy O'Neill. The background
Whisper White layer is embossed using the
Arrows TIEF and then mounted on a
Real Red card base. The DSP banner is from the
Brights DSP stack...I love that paper, but always forget to use it! The focal image, from the
Big News stamp set, was inked using
Old Olive,
Real Red and
Daffodil Delight markers. The polaroid frame was die-cut using the
Squares framelits and popped up with
dimensionals.
The
silver glimmer stars were punched using some retired punches, but
the same look could easily be achieved using the
Stars framelits. The
little WooHoo Banner was stamped in
Old Olive ink and then fussy cut.
On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment in
Real Red ink and the candle in
Old Olive, adding another little silver glimmer star as the flame on the candle. I love that this is a quick and easy generic birthday card, suitable for just about anyone :)
Have a fantastic weekend...and if you have time, why not play along with our colour challenge over at
Sunday Stamps...there's still time!
