Shake up the new year

Well, just a few days remain in 2016...can you believe it? In honour of the new year, I have a shaker card for you today...

This is such a quick and easy one to put together, I actually offered it at an recent card buffet! I used a 4" x 6" cello bag to contain my shaker, inserting a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pop of Pink Specialty DSP for the background and then adding sequins from the Metallic Assortment. I also added some punched confetti I made using gold glimmer paper and the Sprinkles punch. I sealed the cello bag with some Washi tape at the back and voila...instant shaker! Before adhering the shaker to my Basic Black card front, I added a strip of Pop of Pink Washi tape to the front.

The die-cut sentiment is cut from the gold foil sheets using the Hello You Thinlits. The stamped sentiment is from the It's a Celebration stamp set, which is only available for another week in the Holiday Catalogue.

On the iside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the sentiment from the Frosted Medallions stamp set (also retiring!) in Basic Black ink, as well as some fireworks from the It's a Celebration set in Encore gold metallic ink (retired).

I love how quick and easy this card is...and if you're not into sending New Year's cards, it would be a snap to change out the sentiment for a birthday. So fun!

Last Day for the Extravaganza!

https://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/CategoryPage.aspx?categoryid=20500

Happy Monday! Today is the final day of Stampin' Up's big Online Extravaganza Sale. There are special 24-hr deals available today only. Click the image above to visit my webstore and check out these awesome deals...but be sure to place your order today, as these deals disappear at midnight.

Now for some stamping. Today I have a card that features some of the products featured in the Extravaganza Sale. Check it out:

I began with a piece of Fancy Frost specialty DSP (which just happens to be on sale for 30% off!). I sponged the entire piece with Soft Sky ink, then Island indigo and finally, Night of Navy around the outer edges. I love the way the sponging makes the textured pattern of the paper pop.

I stamped the image from the Frosted Medallion stamp set (which is also on sale for 20% off), on Shimmery White card stock, by first inking the entire stamp with Soft Sky ink. Then, using a sponge dauber, I added Island Indigo and Night of Navy. After stamping the image I cut the piece of card stock into three pieces and adhered them to my sponged DSP.

The die-cut "Joy" is cut from silver glimmer paper using the Wonderful Wreath framelits. The stamped sentiment is also from the Frosted Medallions stamp set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink. I added a few Fancy Frost sequins from some sparkle. The whole card is built on an Island Indigo card stock base.

On the inside I added a Whisper White card stock panel on which I stamped the sentiment from the Frosted Medallions stamp set in Night of Navy ink and the medallion image in the same shade, but stamped off once first.
I really love this suite of products...so much so that I designed a whole class around it! It works for so much more than just New Year's or Christmas. Stay tuned for more from this stamp set!

Have a marvelous Monday and a wonderful week!

Give Thanks for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! Mine has been super-exciting as I got my first peek of the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure. Both are absolutely AWESOME! Stay tuned for sneak peek projects in the coming weeks...so many amazing new products to showcase!

Now, today marks the start of a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps. Check out this fall-inspired pallette:

Now, you know how much I love fall, so this challenge was right up my alley. Here is my project for the design team...

I used the Frosted Medallions stamp set from the Holiday catalogue, along with a sentiment from Suite Seasons, with the Joseph's Coat/Emerging Colours technique. This is, by far, one of my favourite techniques because it is different every time I use it. Here I began with a piece of Whisper White card stock and sponged Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Rich Razzleberry inks in patches all over it. Then I heat embossed the medallion image with clear embossing powder, after which I sponged the entire panel with a generous layer of Early Espresso ink. The embossed images resist the final layer of ink and just pop off the page with the vibrant colours.

The sentiment is heat embossed in copper on Very Vanilla card stock, die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits and then layered on a scalloped oval cut from copper foil sheets. I added some ribbon from the 3/8" Trio pack in Rich Razzleberry and Delighful Dijon, as well as some Mini Pinecone embellishments and a bit of linen thread. I also added a die-cut copper foil element, which was done with the Paisley framelits. The entire card is built on a base of Rich Razzleberry card stock.

On the inside I added a Very Vanilla panel on which I stamped the medallion image in Early Espresso ink.

I so love the way this one turned out...those Frosted Medallions are for far more than Christmas and/or New Year's cards!

Give this fabulous fall colour challenge a try and share with us over at Sunday Stamps. We'd love to see your creation!

Have a super Sunday!
