'Tis the Season...

...for gifts and fun packaging! Today I have a cute little treat box I designed using a new sneak peek from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue and some retiring Holiday Catalogue favourites.

Can you spot the new item? It is the silver gable box! These are simply fabulous and will be available January 3rd in the Occasions Catalogue. I couldn't resist decorating it using some of my favourite retiring products from the Cheer all Year Suite. I used a 2" x 12" strip of Year of Cheer DSP to wrap around the box and then added some silver 1/4" metallic ribbon. The sentiment is from the Oh What Fun stamp set and is heat embossed in silver. I used the 2" circle to punch it out and then layered it on a silver foil 2-1/4" circle. That all got layered on a gold foil snowflake. How I am going to miss those pretty snowflakes!

I decorated the top of the box with two green mini sprigs to which I added "snow" by dipping them in my tub of embossing paste. I hot glued them together, adding a silver mini ornamet and a silver metallic 1/8" ribbon bow. The best part is the box can totally be opened without destroying the decoration...gotta love that!

How cute would these be as favours for a winter wedding?? Image the couple's initials in place of the sentiment and voila...quick and easy favours. Don't forget that all retiring items are available while supplies last only, so don't wait to pick up those items you have to have.

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well. I still have a ways to go, as I am in the midst of concert season with my band at school. Looking forward to the end of this week when things wrap up and I can focus on getting ready for Christmas with my family! Have a fabulous week!

Painted Autumn Crate

Well, the calendar says September and Fall is supposed to begin on Friday, but you certainly wouldn't know it to look outside! It is downright HOT here this week...hotter than it has been all summer! Not the kind of weather conducive to learning with a bunch of sweaty teenagers in an unairconditioned classroom...yuck! I'm ready for cool crisp days and chilly nights.

Today I have a fall project for you, despite the weather. It is one that we will be creating at my Suite of the Month class this Friday...

This cute little crate is filled with six 3" x 3" notecards and envelopes. They fit perfectly in the little crate made with the Wood Crate Framelits. I used Crumb Cake card stock embossed with the Pinewood Planks TIEF to construct the crate. I stamped the sunflower image from the Painted Harvest stamp set using Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede inks and then fussy-cut it out and adhered it to the front of the crate, along with some stamped and punched leaves and half of a foil snowflake (vanilla side out).

Each card is cut from thick Very Vanilla card stock, so they're nice and sturdy. On each one I cut a 2-3/4" square of DSP which I then layered on a 2-7/8" square of Early Espresso card stock. The sentiment is from the One Big Meaning stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink. I punched it out using the 2" circle punch and then layered it on a copper foil circle punched with the Starburst punch. I added some stamped leaves using Lemon Lime Twist and Garden Green inks.

Here I used a smaller sentiment image, also from the One Big Meaning set, punching it with the Classic Label punch. I added some more stamped/punched leaves and a little Linen Thread bow.

For this design I stamped the sentiment from the Painted Harvest stamp set in Early Espresso ink, punched it with the Pretty Label punch and then stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze ink (stamped off once). I layered the label on a copper foil label punched with the Everyday Label punch.

I love the 3" x 3" size...they make cute little notes to tuck in with a gift or to attach to a bottle of wine. This little crate is the perfect way to package them to gift to someone special.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great week!

Scrumptious Christmas packaging

Are you ready for Christmas yet? If you're anything like me, you're still scrambling to prepare gifts for teachers, neighbours and co-workers. I have a quick and easy solution  for you. Check out these fun gift boxes...

I wanted to give the ladies in my Project Life club a little chocolatey Christmas treat, so I pulled out my package of White Gift Boxes and went to work. I added a strip of Candy Cane Lane DSP around the sides of the box, adhering it with Fast Fuse. Placing my chocolates inside, I slid the  acetate sleeve over the box and then used some Real Red 3/4" stitched edge ribbon to tie it shut.

I made the tags using Read Red card stock and the Cheerful Tags Framelits. I added another little square of Candy Cane Lane DSP to the inside of the tag. The label is stamped in Versamark using the Here's to Cheers stamp set and heat embossed in gold. I added a little touch of bling with a little gold glimmer swirl, which I also die-cut using the Cheerful Tags framelits. I tied the tag to the box using some Candy Cane Lane baker's twine. Super quick and super easy...just what the doctor ordered for holiday craziness!

Have a fabulous week!
