Bithday Blooms...and a Sneak Peek!

Happy Monday! I am soooo excited I could burst! I have a sneak peek for you of an upcoming event on which I am collaborating with my dear friend Michelle Suit.  Check this out...

This is a project that I have been dreaming of for months and I am soooo excited to see it finally coming to life. Details will be announced at the end of the month, but I can tell you that this album is the perfect way to preserve the memories of your family's magical trip to Disney. It combines the simplicity of  Project Life with an amazing Stampin' Up! card kit and Michelle's phenomenal Disney punch art. All of the pages are designed for you and your kit will be ready to assemble using your own photos. You are going to LOVE it! Because Michelle and I are working togther on this, it will be available to both Canadian and US residents...how fabulous is that?? I can't tell you anymore right now, but soon!

Now on to a project I can tell you all about. This is one I designed for an upcoming class featuring the Birthday Bouquet Suite.

Friendship card featuring the Birthday Blooms stamp set.

To create this card I began with a Whisper White panel on which I heat embossed the flower image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set in gold. I then cut the panel into three sections and layered it on a piece of Blushing Bride card stock. The background panel is a piece of Mint Macaron card stock that I embossed using the Softly Falling TIEF. The sentiment, which is also from the Birthday Blooms set, is also heat embossed in gold and die-cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits. I layered it on a small gold foil doily.

The embellishments all come from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit and include the little gold bow paper clip, Blushing Bride satin ribbon and pink and white sequins. SUCH a fabulous kit of embellishments!

On the inside, I simply heat embossed the flower image again in gold and omitted a sentiment. Sometimes it's nice to be able to write one's own thoughts, don't you think?

Have a great week...thanks for stopping by!

Forever Begins Today

I am SOOOOOO excited!!  One of my stampin' besties is coming for a sleep over! Wahoooo!  The uber-talented and super-awesome Michelle Suit of Suitably Stamped is coming to hang at Casa Girsa this weekend. We are gonna stamp and drink wine and stamp some more...and then probably drink more wine ;) Just wait until you see the awesomeness that is going to come out of our time together.
Ok...now for a project!  Today I have a wedding card that I designed for my upcoming Occasions Card Buffet...

Wedding card featuring the Suite Sayings stamp set and Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper
I have to admit, I really love the way this one turned out. I began with a piece of Timeless Elegance DSP...the soft floral pattern is exactly what I wanted for this project. I then added colour to the flowers using a sponge dauber and Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz inks. I added a gold foil heart doily from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit, as well as some Blushing Bride satin ribbon, which is from the same kit. Over the ribbon, I layered some Sahara Sand lace trim and then secured the DSP to a Sahara Sand card base.

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold on Very Vanilla card stock and die-cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits. Behind the die-cut label I added some pearl trim, which is also from the Love Blossoms kit. The final touch was a few Blushing Bride sequins from the same kit.

Inside view with sentiment from the For The New Two stamp set and images from the Timeless Love stamp set.
On the inside I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using one of the floral images from the Timeless Love stamp set using Sahara Sand ink. The images coordinate beautifully with those on the Timeless Elegance DSP. The sentiment, which is from the For the New Two set, is heat embossed in gold.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend...I know I sure will!

My Valentine

Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I don't normally post on Saturdays, but I wanted to show you one last Valentine's project, just in case you are looking for some last minute inspiration.  This is one we made at my Love Blossoms Suite class last week:

Valentine's card featuring the Bloomin' Love stamp set and Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit
I wanted to create a card that was a little more on the masculine side, as all of the other projects we made were pretty and pink and girlie. I kept my colour scheme neutral, going with Crumb Cake, Whisper White and gold. I began with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, over which I layered a same-sized piece of gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. The trick is to apply the adhesive behind the little gold hearts so it is not visible through the vellum. I die-cut a label, using the Lots of Labels Framelits, from the Love Blossoms DSP stack. The gold foil heart is from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit. I stamped a sentiment fromt the Bloomin' Love stamp set using white Staz On ink. Then it was time to embellish!

I used some gold 5/8" stain ribbon, some white corrugated hearts (punched and die-cut using the Sweetheart punch and the (retired) Hearts Collection Framelits), some little wooden hearts and a few white and gold sequins, both from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit. I love all the little details these embellishments add!

On the inside, I stamped the banner from the Bloomin' Love stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and then heat embossed the sentiment in gold. I used the Large Numbers Framelits to die-cut the banner and popped it up using dimensionals. I added a few little gold foil hearts punched with the Confetti Hearts punch.

This card was definitely a hit with my class participants and might just find it's way into the hands of one of my boys tomorrow!  Have a super Saturday...be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps!

Bloomin' Love XOXO

Whew...what a week this has been! Between my hubby and I being sick, unexpectedly having to purchase a new car (and all of the headaches that entails!) and the start of a new semester at school, I am SO ready for a weekend!
This weekend is Valentine's Day, so I thought I would give you a little inspiration, just in case there is some stamping in your near future. Check this one out:

Valentine's card featuring the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Dies and the Bloomin' Love stamp set.
I used several products from the Love Blossoms suite on this project. I die-cut the heart from Blushing Bride glimmer paper using the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits die.  How I love the intricate detail of this die cut! I added some little flowers that I stamped using Blushing Bride ink and die cut using the little flower dies that are included with the heart. The background DSP is from the Love Blossoms DSP stack. I matted it with some Rose Red card stock and layered it on a Blushing Bride card base that I had stamped all over with some of the flowers from the Bloomin' Love stamp set.

The sentiment banner is also from the Bloomin' Love set and is stamped in Crumb Cake ink and fussy cut out. (Now that I have purchased the Large Numbers Framelits, I can use the coordinating die to cut it much quicker!) The sentiment itself is stamped in Rose Red ink. That sweet little bow and the strings of pearls are from the Love Blossoms Embellishments kit...so pretty! I added a bit of extra bling with some rhinestones in the centres of the flowers.

On the inside, I stamped the banner again using Crumb Cake ink and added another sentiment from the Bloomin' Love set in Rose Red ink.

This one is going to someone special this weekend!
