Snowy Z-fold Shaker

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! It's hard to believe we're already half-way through September...you sure wouldn't know it by the weather...it is WARM! I am ready for some sweater weather and a cooler classroom to work in.
Today I have a fun project I shared with my team during our virtual meeting last week. I designed it for my Fun Folds for the Holidays class coming up later this fall.

This one was inspired by a swap card I received back in July. Isn't that little snowman in a jar adorable?? I decided to  use the idea on a double Z-fold card and love the 3-D result. Here's a look at it opened right up...

The DSP I used is from the A Little Foxy stack. I used Pool Party for the card base and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for the "snowy" strip. The little snowman, snowflakes and sentiments are from the Snow Place stamp set...so cute! The jar is from the Jar of Love set.

I used a bit of metallic red baker's twine and a couple of mini silver jingle bells to embellish the jar. The "snow" inside the jar is Mica Flakes from the Holiday Catty.

I love double-Z-fold cards. I did another one that I also love. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for that one. Have a great week!

12 Days of Christmas in July Day 10

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are enjoying the weekend. It is a long weekend here and my first of the summer where my To-Do List isn't longer than the weekend is long! I'm so looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.
Today I have another project I designed for an upcoming private class this week. The hostess chose several designs from Pinterest and I recreated them with my own little twist. This one was inspired by Yvonne VanBruggen of the Netherlands...

Yvonne's original design was all black and white, but I decided to add some pops of festive colour. The large snowflakes are from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and are stamped in Basic Gray ink. The smaller snowflakes are from the Snow Place set and are also stamped in Basic Gray. The smaller spatters are from the Holly Jolly Greetings set and are stamped in Smoky Slate to add a little depth. The die-cut silver foil swirl is done using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.

The penguin is stamped in Basic Black ink, die-cut using the Snow Friends set and coloured with a Pumpkin Pie marker. His little scarf is stamped in Real Red and also die-cut using the Snow Friends framelits. The sentiment stamped in Basic Black. The card is built on a Real Red card stock base. The only embellishments are some little silver enamel dots for some holiday sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink and a few more snowflakes in Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

Speaking of Christmas...are you on my mailing list to receive a copy of the upcoming Holiday Catalogue?? If you aren't you'll want to be, because it is out-of-this-world fabulous! 56 pages of pure awesomeness!! 12 Days of Christmas in July Day 7

Happy Wednesday...half-way to the weekend...and it is a long weekend here! Yesterday we demonstrators got our first peek at the upcoming Holiday Catalogue and let me tell you, I am IN LOVE with what we saw! Such an adorable suite of products...the wheels are already spinning with project ideas! We get to see more today...can't wait!
I hope you enjoyed yesterday's cute project featuring the Snow Place stamp set, because I have another one today! This is another fun-fold card that I absolutely adore. Check it out...

Now, the front is pretty cute, right? But wait for the inside!

This is a gatefold shutter card...that cute little penguin peeks out as you open the card. So stinkin' cute! For a fabulous tutorial on this fun fold be sure to check out Sandi MacIver's video.
For my project, the card base and shutters are constructed of Real Red card stock. I used some This Christmas Specialty DSP to layer on the front and inside of the card. When I die-cut the peekaboo circle for the inside panel I saved it and used it for the belly band on the front.

I layered the die-cut DSP circle on a slightly larger Real Red scalloped circle, cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. I added some Whisper White Mini Pompom trim around it...I love the way it looks! The little penguin is die-cut using the Snow Friends Framelits.

On the inside I added some snowflakes punched from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper with the Snow Flurry punch as well as some sequins. The sentiment label is die-cut using the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
