Season of Joy for Sunday Stamps

Happy Sunday...and happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!! I hope you are spending this long weekend celebrating with those you love. Speaking of celebrating, my hubby and I are marking our 13th wedding anniversary today. I'll post the card I made for his tomorrow, so be sure to stop by.
Today marks a new colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps. It is a fabulous neutral pallette that is perfect for fall.

Here is my take on this challenge for the Design Team:

I decided to go with a Christmas card that could easily be made as a thanksgiving  project with a change in the die-cut sentiment. I used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set, stamping the wreath image in Crumb Cake ink. I then added the accent leaves heat embossed in copper...so yummy!

I used the Wonderful Wreath framelits to die-cut the word "Joy" from copper foil sheets. The stamped portion of the sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla card stock. The background panel is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, embossed with the Cable Knit dynamic TIEF...even yummier! I embellished my wreath with a bit of burlap ribbon, tied with some linen thread and a couple of mini pinecones. The berries on the wreath are basic pearls that I coloured with a brown Sharpie.

On the inside I added another piece of Very Vanilla card stock on which I stamped sentiments from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake ink. I added a bit of texture with the confetti image from the stamp set, stamped off in Crumb Cake ink.

Be sure to check out the gorgeous projects by the rest of the Design Team and then give this colour challenge a try. We'd love to see your creation! Have a super Sunday!

Jolly Monday

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. I got to celebrate my nephew's birthday and made him a special card. More on that tomorrow...be sure to check in then.

Today I have a Christmas card I designed for my upcoming card buffet. It was inspired by an adorable card by my uber-talented stamping sister Michelle Suit.
Check it out:

Isn't that little reindeer too cute??  He is from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in the new Holiday Catalogue. I stamped him using Early Espresso ink on Kraft card stock and then punched the image out with the Cookie Cutter Builder punch. I coloured his ears and antlers using an Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker and added a red glimmer nose and a Real Red bow tie. I layered the punched image on a circle of DSP from the Presents and Pinecones pack. I layered that on an Emerald Envy circle and then a Real Red scalloped circle. All of the circles were die-cut using the Layering Circles Framelits.

The Whisper White background is embossed using the new Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF. It is INCRDEIBLE! Such a deep impression it looks 3D. Just be sure to lightly spritz your card stock with water before embossing so it doesn't tear. I matted the embossed panel on a piece of Emerald Envy card stock and then on a Mint Macaron card base. The die-cut sentiment is cut from Real Red card stock using the Christmas Greetings Thinlits. The stamped sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and is stamped in Emerald Envy ink. The only embellishments are some Emerald Envy baker's twine and some little red mini jingle bells.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped one of the sentiments from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set in Emerald Envy ink. I added another stamped and punched reindeer.

I am SO loving the Cookie Cutter products! So many options and so stinkin' cute! Have a marvelous Monday!

12 Days of Christmas in July Day 10

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are enjoying the weekend. It is a long weekend here and my first of the summer where my To-Do List isn't longer than the weekend is long! I'm so looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.
Today I have another project I designed for an upcoming private class this week. The hostess chose several designs from Pinterest and I recreated them with my own little twist. This one was inspired by Yvonne VanBruggen of the Netherlands...

Yvonne's original design was all black and white, but I decided to add some pops of festive colour. The large snowflakes are from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and are stamped in Basic Gray ink. The smaller snowflakes are from the Snow Place set and are also stamped in Basic Gray. The smaller spatters are from the Holly Jolly Greetings set and are stamped in Smoky Slate to add a little depth. The die-cut silver foil swirl is done using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.

The penguin is stamped in Basic Black ink, die-cut using the Snow Friends set and coloured with a Pumpkin Pie marker. His little scarf is stamped in Real Red and also die-cut using the Snow Friends framelits. The sentiment stamped in Basic Black. The card is built on a Real Red card stock base. The only embellishments are some little silver enamel dots for some holiday sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink and a few more snowflakes in Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

Speaking of Christmas...are you on my mailing list to receive a copy of the upcoming Holiday Catalogue?? If you aren't you'll want to be, because it is out-of-this-world fabulous! 56 pages of pure awesomeness!! If you live in Canada and don't currently have a demonstrator drop me a quick note to request a complimentary copy. I'll get one in the mail to you so you have it well before it goes live on September 1st.

Have a super Saturday. I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas project inspired by the new sketch at Sunday Stamps. See you then ;)
