Deck the Halls

Today I have one more card to show you from my Holiday Head Start Card Bufet line-up for tomorrow night.  Check it out:

Blingy Christmas card featuring the Christmas Mesages stamp set and Season of Style DSP

Lots of sparkle on this card!  I used all three colors of Glimmer Paper...

...and did lots of layering.  All of the shapes are either punched or die-cut...super quick and easy to create all the pieces.  Another perfect project for mass-producing.  And now...

Joyful Evergreen

In case you hadn't noticed, I am in full-Christmas mode these days, as I gear up for the many holiday classes I have coming up next month.  Today I have another design to show you that will be featured at my Holiday Head-Start Card Buffet coming up this Friday evening:

Rustic Holiday card featuring the Evergreen stamp set (127973) with sentiment from Joyful Christmas (131805).
I went for a more rustic look for this design.  I love the way the burlap and the woodgrain embossing work together.

I also like the pop of the Real Red mat against the earthy tones of green and brown.

I kept the inside simple, stampin off the  tree before sttamping on  my card stock and using another sentiment from Joyful Christmas.

Now for some more exciting news...

Using up scraps!

My stamping desk is a bit of a disaster area these days.  I've been so busy prepping for my upcoming classes I haven't had time to stop and clean up.  So, the pile just gets bigger and bigger and my work area gets smaller and smaller...is there anybody out there who can relate?  Well, I decided to try to tackle some of my mess by using up the scraps and leavings from other projects.  Here is what I came up with:

Holiday card featuring the A Banner Christmas stamp set (130255)
I had those Washi Tape ornaments sitting around from another project I had thought I would use them on, but didn't.  I also had the strip of DSP and the die-cut glittery snowflakes, as well as the red die-cut circle.  I just started layering and viola...insta-card!

As if this card weren't blingy enough already, I decided to add a few rhinestones...can't have too much bling...especially for the Holidays!
I wish I could say my desk looks much tidier, but I'm sad to say I have a LONG way  and several more scrap-projects to go!

Now for this week's Weekly Deals...some of my favourite products are on sale!

One day left...

...to take advantage of 25% 25 stamp sets.  The sale ends tonight at midnight, so don't miss out...get your order in today!

Now, I don't know about the weather where you live, but this weekend felt decidedly wintery.  We had our fireplace going pretty much all weekend long to take the damp chill out of  the air.  That crackling fire really got me in the mood for Christmas projects...good thing too!  I have my Holiday Head-Start Card Buffet coming up this Friday evening.  Here is one of the projects that will be available:

Cute and simple Christmas card featuring the Tag It stamp set.

The DSP on this card came from the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit!  It is from the envelope liners!  I used a kit for another project but had the envelope liners left over, so I put them to good use!

I haven't done many traditional red-and-green Christmas cards this year, so I thought it was time.  I kept it really simple...perfect for mass-producing!

Double Embossing for The Technique Twist

This week's challenge at The Technique Twist is Double Embossing.  Now, I had always considered Double Embossing to be where one used both dry and heat embossing on a project, but leave it to the creative gals over at the Twist to switch it up!  This take on Double Embossing uses different coloured embossing powders to colour an image.  Check out my project:

Christmas Card featuring the Double Embossing technique using the Festive Flurry stamp set (131781), coordinating Framelits (132193) as well as the Expressions Thinlits (132171)
I twisted this already twisted technique by stamping and heat embossing my snowflake on acetate.

I used white, Tempting Turquoise and Pool Party embossing powders.  I did a second, smaller snowflake for the inside.

Inside sentiment is from the More Merry Messages stamp set (126402)
This technique really is as easy as heat embossing, you just use multiple colours of embossing powder rather than a single one.  One tip for heat embossing on acetate: be sure to use your Embossing Buddy liberally before stamping.  Because acetate tends to hold static electricity, the embossing powders will stick where you don't want them if you don't use the Buddy!  You also may need to use a card stock shim when die cutting with acetate to ensure the Framelits cut all the way through.
Give this technique a try...its fun and easy...then be sure to link up over at The Technique Twist so we can admire your work!
