Life's too Short

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was TONS of fun! I held my Birthday Bonanza Card Buffet on Friday evening and it was a hit! We had special guests, Gennie and Kevin, from Stampin' Up!® head office in Riverton, Utah who were here doing research for new product development. They observed my stampers using Stampin' Up! products and asked LOTS of questions. My ladies enjoyed having the opportunity to give feedback on various products and ideas for new ones.

We also managed to make some cute cards along the way. This was one of them...

It features my product of the week...

I have some super-cute projects planned for this week's Live @ Five video, including this one!

I used some Botanical Butterfly Sale-a-bration DSP for the background. The Melon Mambo striped DSP is from the How Sweet It Is DSP pack. The images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with the Light Lovely Lipstick and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends. Of course, I used the Stitched Rectangle framelits to die-cut the sentiment label and the layer behind it.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped a fun sentiment from the Piece of Cake stamp set and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Amazing Life set. I also added those cute little flourishes in each corner.

For the full scoop on how I put this card together be sure to check out my Tuesday Live @ Five video over on Facebook or click on my Video Tutorials tab at the top of this page.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a great week!

You Make Me Happy

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. The weather is absolutely FREEZING here! Today's windchills are at -33C...brrrr!! I managed to keep warm in my studio this weekend prepping for my classes this week. I have a BIG birthday card buffet that had me cutting and prepping 300 cards! Needless to say, my paper cutter and Big Shot got a GOOD workout!

This week I am featuring the Meant To Be Bundle...after all, Valentine's Day is just three weeks away and it's time to get creating projects for our loved ones.

I have to say, this die set surprised me. The photo in the catalogue is really tiny, making it hard to distinguish the different dies in the set. When I opened the package I was thrilled to see so many images beyond basic hearts. I have used this set A TON since it arrived! Check out this pretty fun fold I'll be featuring on this weeks Tuesday Live @ Five video over on Facebook...

Now, this card is anything but quick and easy, but it is so, so worth the effort!

I used a ton of dies from the set and had fun layering and playing with different combinations. I used some of the gorgeous All my Love DSP for the background and then based my colour scheme on it, using Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White, with a wee pop of Lovely Lipstick for the sentiment.

This fold is so easy, yet provides a really wow, as it creates a 3D effect which really makes these die-cut images the star of the show.

With so much going on on the front of the card,  I kept it simple on the inside with a stamped heart image and another sentiment from the Meant to Be stamp set...

Be sure to check out my video tomorrow at 5 pm ET on my Facebook page or later on YouTube or the Video Tutorials tab above. I am having so much fun doing these live videos each week...so much better to show you how to make the card than tell you! I hope you'll join me or check out the recording. You'll find the full supply list below and all of the cutting measurements will be in the video description.

Thanks for stopping by today...have a fantastic week!

It's all about the Treats!

Happy Tuesday! Are you surprised to see me? I don't normally post on Tuesdays, but today is the 15th of the month, which means it is time for another Stamping Symphony Blog Hop!

I have some incredibly talented stampers in my Stamping Symphony family and each month we get together to showcase some of our work. This month we are all about Sale-a-bration!

One of the most popular stamp sets in the Sale-a-bration brochure so far as been So Hoppy Together. Those cute little frogs are just too much fun to stamp and colour! Check out this cute birthday card...

Can you guess where that paper came from? It is in the Annual Catalouge and one I absolutely LOVED when the catalogue first came out and then all but forgot about with the busy Christmas season. It is the Tropical Escape DSP pack. There are so many great images in the perfect shades of green to work with these cute froggies. I even pulled in some die-cut leaves (which to me kind of look like lily pads) from the  Tropical Thinlits.

I coloured my frog using the Granny Apple Green Blends combo pack and used the dark Mango Melody Blends for the crown. The dragon fly is coloured using the light Granny Apply Green and then I added some magical Wink of Stella to make his wings sparkle. The die-cut sentiment was cut from Basic Black card stock using the new Well Written Framelit dies. I used part of one of the sentiments in the stamp set and fussy cut out the "hoppy" for a cute, punny birthday sentiment.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel, glued in a strip of leftover DSP and added a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set and another cute little dragonfly.

As cute as this card is, there is much more awesomeness to been seen from my fellow bloggers. Be sure to check out their masterpieces too... and leave a comment to let them know you found them.

Have a great week!
