Now, on to our blog hop! This month we had a colour challenge theme...check it out:

I was SO happy to play with some non-Christmas colours this week! I decided to pull out a long-neglected bundle from the Annual Catalogue...Lovely & Lasting. Here is my card:

I used a piece of the Lovely in Linen Designer Paper, die-cut it with one of the Basic Border Dies and then layered it over a piece of Basic White card stock that I embossed with the Quatrefoil embossing folder.

To stamp my flowers, I first inked the entire stamp with So Saffron ink and then, using a sponge dauber, added Sweet Sorbet ink around the edges of the flowers. I LOVE the way they turned out! Then I fussy-cut them out and arranged them, along with some punched sprigs from the Bough punch, on the front of my card. I used the same technique on the small flowers on the sentiment label and added a sentiment stamped in Smoky Slate. The ribbon is the White Crinkled Seam Binding that I coloured with my dark So Saffron Blends...gotta love being able to customize embellishments!

On the inside, I stamped a border along the top and bottom edges of my Basic White panel to echo what I did on the front.

Saleabration Countdown Day 6: Catching Butterflies

 Happy Sunday...and welcome to Day 6 of my countdown to Sale-a-bration 2022. Today I am all about the adorable Catching Butterflies stamp set. The image of the girl in this set reminds me of my niece...barefoot, in a dress, outdoors catching butterflies. That is SO something she would do! I have had such fun playing with this set and experimenting with different ideas. Here are a few I've come up with:

I used some of the new Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Paper on this one...LOVE that stuff!

More Abstract Beauty DSP here...with heat embossed butterflies...so pretty!

This is a swap card I received...so cute!

I am so loving this birthday card! I used another pattern from the Abstract Beauty DSP pack for the background. The sheets in this pack are 4" x 6", so there is absolutely ZERO waste! The 3/4" horizontal strip is what I cut off the background layer! Instead of a butterfly net, I wanted my sweet girl to be holding a bunch of balloons, so I stamped the balloon image from the Penguin Place stamp set and fussing cut them out. The sentiment is from the Awesome Otters set. I used one of the label dies from the Potted Succulents dies for the sentiment.

To colour the image I used Light Flirty Flamingo for the dress, Dark and Light Petal Pink for the skin tones and Light So Saffron and Light Crumb Cake for the hair. 

I added some Blushing Bride twine and a few In-Colour Gems to embellish.

On the inside I added a sentiment from the Catching Butterflies stamp set, which works beautifully for a birthday card.

Saleabration Countdown Day 5: Driving By

 Happy New Year!

I hope you were able to ring in 2022 surrounded by those you love. Here it was a quiet evening of movie watching...we all actually made it to midnight...and then were in bed by 12:05 ;) 

Today I'm shifting my focus back to Saleabration stamp sets with the Driving By set. I had so much fun playing with the images in this set...what's not to love about a VW bug, VW bus and cute convertible sports car?? Check out these fun samples I made:

I couldn't resist creating a beachy themed card with that cute VW bus image. I combined Sunshine & Rainbows DSP with die-cuts and a sentiment from the Paradise Palms bundle. 

Here's a masculine card idea for the car enthusiast. 

This card just makes me giggle. I went for a bit of a flower-power vibe on this one. I used the flower image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set for tone-on-tone stamping in Granny Apple Green for my background. Then I chose two fun patterns from the Pattern Party DSP host pack in the annual catalogue. I stamped and coloured the VW bus image on Basic White card stock and then stamped it again on some scrap DSP, using the flower pattern to paper piece on the body of the bus. I love this technique!

I added some denim-look ribbon and some Loose Flower Flourishes from the Annual Catalogue to complete the 60's look.

The sentiment is from the new Bragworthy stamp set, which features fun, cheeky sentiments. I used part of one of the sentiments for the front of the card...

...and the rest of it on the inside. How fun is that??
