Simply Succulents and a new Online Class!

Happy Tuesday! Can you believe we are in the last week of February already? I don't know how it is possible that this month has felt like it has flown and been an eternity all at the same time! This living through a pandemic sure is discombobulating! As the month winds down, so does this edition of Sale-a-bration. There are just FIVE days left to take advantage  of this awesome opportunity to earn freebies...whether it is with a minimum $60 order or joining my Stamping Symphony family. Be sure to get your order in or join before midnight on February 28th so you don't miss out!

Although Sale-a-bration is drawing to a close, the January-June Mini Catalogue is just getting started! There are so many fabulous products in this mini it's a good thing that I have six months to showcase them all! This week I am all about the Simply Succulents bundle, pairing it with both the Artistry Blooms and In Good Taste Designer Paper from the Annual Catalogue.

I love when I can spotlight new products while also calling attention to much-loved items that have been around a little longer. Of course, it doesn't hurt to remind you that this year's Annual Catalogue ends a whole month earlier than usual...the new book goes live May the 4th (be with you!)!

Today we are launching a brand new Cross-border Crafters Online Class...check it out:

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the projects in this class. It includes two sets of three coordinating cards; one bright cheery set featuring the Artistry Blooms DSP and the other featuring beautiful subtle shades and natural textures with the In Good Taste DSP. Each set includes two standard cards and one fun fold for a total of SIX designs in all. In addition to the six pre-cut project kits, you'll also receive exclusive access to a step-by-step tutorial video and a PDF supply list and measurement guide so you can recreate the projects as many times as you'd like.

As always, this class is FREE with a $60 minimum order using Host Code D3QR6EEG in my online store or emailed to me directly by Friday, March 5th, 2021. Because this is a Cross-border Crafters collaboration, this class is available to BOTH residents of Canada and the US.

Can you tell I'm longing for spring?? These beautiful shades remind me of the pretty purple hyacinths that will be lighting up my garden in a few months. Right now they're buried under a foot of snow, but I know that with the warmth of the spring sunshine and gentle April rains I'll be once again enjoying these colours in my yard.
This card is SO easy to make and a quick way to used the succulent images without taking the time to colour them. I used two different ombre sheets from the Artistry Blooms DSP pack to stamp my images in Basic Grey ink. Then I die-cut them out and arranged them on a vellum ring I cut using the Layering Circle dies to create my wreath. I love the way I can get beautiful shading on the succulents without colouring at all!

I used the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder to add texture to the Basic White background panel... I love the detail and depth of the embossed pattern! The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey ink and die-cut using the Potted Succulents dies. I LOVE that the die set includes three fabulous stitched label shapes!

On the inside of my Granny Apple Green card base, I added a Basic White panel on which I stamped several more of the succulent images, this time option to colour them with Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather Stampin' Blends...I just couldn't resist! These images are so much fun to colour and play with different combinations!

Circle Celebration and a Blog Hop!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. Here in Ontario we have a long weekend...a perfectly-timed, much-needed break from the classroom for me!

Today marks the 15th of the month, which means it is time for another Stamping Symphony blog hop! This month we are featuring products from the January-June Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration, which gave me the chance to pull out a stamp set I hadn't yet inked up...Circle Celebration.

Now, if you've been around Stampin' Up! for a while, you might remember a stamp set called Circle Circus. It was one that stuck around for several years. I absolutely ADORED it and was so sad when it retired. You can imagine how thrilled I was to see a similar set in the new mini! I had SUCH FUN playing with this set over the weekend...so much so that I decided to feature it all week long, including my Live @ Five video tomorrow! Check out this pretty card...

I think my favourite thing about this one is the colour palette! Here are the colours I used:

So yummy!! To create my background collage, I began with a piece of Purple Posy card stock and then added Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks along the left side with my Blending Brushes. (It you haven't tried those lovelies yet, you NEED to...they ROCK!). Then I stamped several of the images from the Circle Celebration set, starting in Highland Heather, then Gorgeous Grape, Magenta Madness and Night of Navy. The final step was to heat emboss the wreath image in white...love the added depth that final step provides! Here's a closer look:

The sentiment is from the Happy Thoughts stamp set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink on a die-cut Stitched Rectangle. I added some Playing With Patterns Navy ribbon and a few Flowers for Every Season Gems to add a bit of texture and shimmer.

On the inside of the  Gorgeous Grape card base I added a Basic White panel on which I stamped more of the images I used on the front. Isn't it amazing how different they look stamped on white, as opposed to the Purple Posy??

In Bloom Fun Fold

Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a good week. Here, we are back to hybrid teaching this week (half the class in school, half online from home) and it feels a little like September again as we settle back into routines. I have to say, there is going to be one VERY LARGE bottle of wine consumed on the last day of school in June after this crazy year!

I don't know about you, but I am SO over the cold and drabness of winter. My heart yearns for warm sunshine and colourful flowers. Since it is still frigid here in southern Ontario, I have to make my own sunshine and that is exactly what I've been doing all week! I pulled out the In Bloom bundle and have been creating beautiful paper flowers which will have to suffice until the real thing comes along in a few months. Check out this fun fold card I made...

I used several patterns from the Paper Blooms Sale-a-bration Designer Paper (which coordinates PERFECTLY with this bundle!), along with a little Oh So Ombre DSP, to create this accordian-fold card.  I used Night of Navy card stock for the base, which provides the perfect neutral backdrop for all of those beautiful patterns and colours. The belly band slides off and the card opens out to reveal more DSP and another sentiment with room to write a greeting.

I used the Pierced Blooms Dies to die-cut the flowers and leaves I used to decorate the belly band. I actually cut them from the large polka dot patterned sheet in the Paper Blooms DSP pack. I love the soft water-coloured look that results! And can we just take a moment to admire the detail in those die-cut flowers! The pierced-look happens with just a single pass through the machine...so easy and so very pretty! An added bonus in this set of dies is the cute label, which I used for my sentiment. Here's a closer look...

This fun fold is surprisingly easy to make, yet provides a real WOW and an opportunity to showcase your favourite DSP patterns. Check out my video tutorial below.

Thanks so much for stopping by this week. Make it a great one!
