Nuts About You

Happy Wednesday!  Here in Canada it feels like a Thursday, as tomorrow is the last day of the work week with the Canada Day holiday on Friday. Even better for me, tomorrow marks my last day of work for the school year...wahooo!!! I am SO ready to focus on just one job for a while :)

Today I have a cute project I designed for my Little Foxy Suite class this evening...

One of the many fabulous features of the Fox Builder punch and coordinating stamp set is that one can create so many different little critters. Here I've done a sweet little squirrel using Crumb Cake ink. Aren't his little paws adorable? I stamped those in Early Espresso. He is sitting on a stump, which is also part of the Foxy Friends stamp set. I used the Layering Circles Framelits to die cut the Kraft and Real Red scallop circles. The little hearts are punched using the Confetti Hearts punch.

I used the Woodgrain TIEF on the Kraft background panel and added some Burlap Ribbon for additional texture. The sentiment is part of the Acorny Thank You stamp set and is stamped in Crumb Cake ink and punched with the coordinating Acorn Builder punch.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Sunburst Saying stamp set in Crumb Cake ink and added one more punched Real Red heart. Such a sweet card for someone special!

Best. Birthday. Ever.

Happy Monday to you...and a very happy last week of school to all of my Ontario teacher friends! SOOO excited to be done!
If you've been wondering where I've been the past several days, I've been busy celebrating my birthday weekend with my BFF Michelle Suit. She came all the way from Virginia to help me celebrate and it has truly been the BEST birthday ever! It is the first time in a very, very long time that I have taken time just for me and it has been wonderful! It didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely gorgeous too!! I feel so blessed to have met this amazing woman, whom I never would have met were it not for Stampin Up! Being a demonstrator is about SOOO much more than making pretty things!

Now, I had big plans for a birthday weekend sale but, alas, I had serious technical difficulties with Blogger last week and was unable to post the details. So....I decided to do a Happy Birthday Canada promo instead! Here are the details:

Starting Friday, July 1st at 9:00 am until Sunday, July 3rd at 6:00 pm, receive FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $40.

PLUS every order will also receive SIX free hand-stamped cards from yours truly (in honour of my six-year Stampin' Up! Anniversary).
Orders placed through my online store will receive a credit equivalent to the shipping cost, as I can't apply a discount to web orders. The credit will be e-transferred to the email on your account. Orders placed via email or phone will receive the discount off their order total. So what are you waiting for? Get shopping!

Now, here's a little inspiration for you...

This card uses the new Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Pop of Pink Specialty DSP. And I might also mention it coordinates BEAUTIFULLY with my beloved Scribbles and Swirls Thinlits...so many possibilities! And let's just pause for a moment and admire the awesomeness of that DSP! I just ordered another pack because I simply can't get enough of it!

That little pop of gold bling in the sentiment makes my heart happy.

On the inside I added one of the brushstroke images and a sentiment from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set, as well as a metallic enamel heart...love those new embellishments!

Now, off you go and put your order together. I'll post reminders all week so you don't forget amid the long weekend hustle and bustle. I don't want you to miss out on this great deal!

Sending Smiles

Happpy Wednesday....downhill to the weekend and the end of the school year is in sight! I am in the midst of exams and report cards right now...CRAZY busy! One week from tomorrow it will all be DONE! Wahooo!!
Today I have one of the fun-fold projects we did at my class this week. It is really an easy one and a great way to showcase BOTH sides of your favourite DSP...

Isn't that paper beautiful?? It is the new Floral Affection Specialty DSP. Besides beautiful printed patterns, this pack also features two sheets with metallic COPPER accents. It is soo yummy! For this project I started with an 8" square of DSP and then scored on the diagonal at 3" (I used my retired Simply Scored diagonal plate). Then I trimmed the little triangles created on each side by the score lines with my paper snips. I flipped the DSP over and then, using the regular Simply Scored, I scored at 1" down to the little snipped triangles on each side. That's it! The rest is simply folding. The finished card is 4-1/4" square, so it fits perfectly in a standard envelope. This is what it looks like without the belly band.

To make the belly band I used a 1-1/4" x 11" strip of Night of Navy card stock, wrapped it around the closed pinwheel and secured it with Fast Fuse. I added some of the new Burlap Ribbon...love that stuff too...I'm already on my second roll! The squares are die-cut using the new Layering Squares Framelits from Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder and Night of Navy card stock. I stamped the white square using images and sentiments from the Love & Affection stamp set and Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron and Night of Navy inks.

On the inside I layered a 4" Whisper White square on a 4-1/8" Night of Navy square and stamped more of the same images I used on the belly band. I simply adore this gorgeous suite of products...how about you?

Thanks for stopping by...have a fabulous day!
