More Convention Inspiration

During one of the Main Stage presentations, Stampin' Up! executive team member Pam Morgan showed us a project that featured gold embossing on the Black-andVanilla Modern Medley DSP.  There was a collective gasp at how gorgeous it looked and I knew I had to try it as soon as I got the chance.  So....here it is!

Congratulations card featuing the Layered Labels, Mixed Bunch and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets with DSP from the Modern Medley pack.

Inside view

This is one of the busier cards I've made in quite a while...I just couldn't stop adding stuff to it!  I began by stamping the spatter images from the Gorgeous Grunge set all over the DSP and then heat embossed them in gold.  The flower is also heat embossed in gold on vellum card stock.  I also layered a Coastal Cabana flower behind the vellum one that I also stamped with the spatter images and heat embossed in gold.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold on Very Vanilla card stock.  As if there weren't enough gold on this card already, I also added a bit of gold to the Very Vintage Designer Button!  The inside features a stamped blossom in Coastal Cabana and more Gorgeous Grunge heat embossing.  To complete the look, I lined the envelope using my new Envelope Liner Framelits...available August 1st in the new Holiday Catalogue!  So excited about those!!
Just a reminder that if you haven't taken advantage of the Buy-three-get-one-free DSP promotion, time is running out!  Don't miss your chance to stock up on your favourite DSP packs before the end of the month.  This promotion expires on July 31st...call or email to place your order today!

Elegant Congrats

Today I want to show you another card I designed for my Spring Fling Card Buffet this weekend.  Have a look:

Elegant Wedding card featuring the Flowering Flourish and Layered Labels stamp sets.
This photo really doesn't do this card justice!  It is so sparkly and pretty in real life!  The background is heat embossed in silver, as is the sentiment panel.  I love the combination of Basic Black and Pool Party...they compliment each other so nicely!  I also added a little extra bling with strategically placed rhinestones and the gorgeous Designer Builder brad.
If you still haven't registered for this weekend's Spring Fling card buffet, it's not too late!  Call or email today to confirm your seat, but hurry...tomorrow will be too late!

Speaking of too late, don't miss your final chance to earn FREE product during the final days of Sale-a-bration.. This fantastic promotion ends tomorrow at midnight.  Hurry and place your order or, better yet, join my team of demonstrators and get 25% more product in your Starter Kit.  These great deals will soon disappear...don't miss out!

International Bazaar

Tonight I have my monthly team meeting for my Tri-City Stampers team.  A big part of our meetings is always fun make-n-takes.  This month I wanted to highlight some of the wonderful new products in the catalogue that members of my team may not have had a chance to order yet.  One of my favourite new DSP packs is International Bazaar.  It has such a wonderful variety of rich colours and patterns I just had to pull it out for this project.  Have a look:

Congratulations card featuring the Herringbone technique using the new International Bazaar DSP.  Sentiment is from Layer Labels.
Aren't those colours fabulous??  They are so vibrant and rich , yet they all work so well together.  Another neat thing about this DSP is that is uses Bravo Burgundy!!  I so rarely use that colour it was good to pull it out again.  I only wish I had ribbon in that shade, as I would have preferred it to the Daffodil Delight I ended up using.  This DSP also offers lots of possibilities for masculine cards, which so many of us struggle with.
To create the background I used the Herringbone technique, which was one that was featured at the demo event I participated in last weekend.  What a great way to add WOW to a project without a lot of effort (or expense!).  Because the background has so much going on I kept the rest of the card simple, adding only the sentiment from the Layered Labels set that I cut out with my new Apothecary Accents framelits.  I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and added an antique brad (once again the perfect finishing touch!).  I hope my team members enjoy making this card and grow to love the International Bazaar DSP as much as I do!

I'm really trying...

...to learn to love the new Summer Starfruit In-colour.  It is a shade of yellow that just doesn't quite do it for me...however, I am really trying to find ways to use it to allow it to grow on me.  The card I have for you today is based on one we did last week at our Jammin' Stampers team meeting. I adapted it (and toned down the Summer Starfruit!) for my own Tri-City Stampers team meeting tonight.  See what you think...

Any-occasion card and coordinating envelope featuring the new Papaya Collage and Layered Labels stamp sets.
So....the yellow looks ok when it is toned down with the Midnight Muse, no?  I don't mind it on this card...maybe it is growing on me after all.  Here is the rundown of new products I used on this card:
Papaya Collage stamp set
Layered Labels stamp set
Apothecary Accents Framelits
Comfort Cafe DSP
Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse In-color card stock and ink

I also added a little touch to the coordinating enveloped by die cutting the flap with my Adorning Accents Edgelits and then stamped it using the vine stamp from the Papaya Collage set.  It adds  a pretty touch when the envelope matches the card, no?
