Two More Sleeps!

Happy Labour Day Monday! Can you believe the summer is over?? Tomorrow the school bell rings and I'm back to the insanity. The only consolation is that the spectacular new Holiday Catalogue goes LIVE on Wednesday! I know I get excited about every new catalogue (who doesn't like new goodies?), but I can honestly say that in my opinion this is the BEST Holiday Catalogue we have had in my 8-1/2 years as a demonstrator.  It is really that good. Period. Now, if you still don't have a copy of your very own, I would be happy to send you a complimentary copy. Just drop me a quick note HERE and ask...ye shall receive!

Now for a cute project...this is one we'll be making at my Holiday Catalogue Launch and Bingo event next week:

If you've been following me for a while, I'm pretty sure how you know how I feel about Fall. I can't get enough of the rich and vibrant tones God paints the earth with each year. The Country Lane DSP pack is full of beautiful patterns and fall-inspired images. I used two different patterns here. The Crushed Curry background panel is also stamped with a leaf image from the Falling For Leaves stamp set. I love the added texture the stamped images add, as it's a good reminder that stamping on DSP is OK!

I used a square of the new galvanized metallic paper and embossed it using the Tin Tile TIEF...that folder is definitely in my Top Ten Must-Haves from this catalogue! The beautiful leaf is die-cut from Crushed Curry card stock using the Detailed Leaves dies. I layered the detailed leaf on a plain leaf cut with the same set. (Tip: apply Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to the back of your card stock before die-cutting detailed images...it makes adhering them a BREEZE!)
The sentiment is from the Country Home stamp set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink. I added a few more little Crushed Curry Leaves peeking onto the sentiment label as well. I added a little heart from the Corrugated Elements, some Braided Linen Trim and a few silver metallic pearls by way of embellishment.

On the inside I added a few more stamped leaves in Crushed Curry ink and a sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Blackberry Bliss. The entire card is built on a Crumb Cake card stock base.

Now for some exciting news...

I have started a special Facebook Group just for my blog followers and customers. This is different from my business page and will feature special tutorials, videos, customer promotions and more. If you want to see more of what I create, this group is the place to be. I will be posting there daily...you don't want to miss out! Fall in the air?

Happy...er...Wednesday?!?  I know I'm a couple of days late with this week's post...sorry about that. We have my uncle from Austria staying with us this week, so I am completely out of my routine and out of whack. As I am the only one in our household who speaks German, and my uncle doesn't speak English, I've been pretty much occupied since he arrived. It certainly has been a great visit...I hadn't seen him since 1996! I'd say we were overdue for a visit! What's even better is that we've been planning how we are going to extend our trip after the Greek Isles incentive trip next summer and spend a few days in Innsbruck with my uncle. I am SOOO excited about this trip...this likely isn't the last you'll hear about it ;)

But enough about me...you came to see a cute project and I have one for you! This is one I designed while planning my upcoming fall classes. It uses some Annual Catalogue items and some Holiday Catalogue sneak peeks as well...

The inspiration for this card was one designed by Leanne Pugliese that I found on Pinterest. Leanne's card was quite CAS, however I like to grunge up my masculine cards sometimes, so I layered lots of stamped images and used some embellishments from the Holiday Catalogue.

I began with a scrap of Wood Textures DSP and stamped the horse and grass image from the Country Road stamp set in Early Espresso ink. I adhered that to a piece of Early Espresso card stock that I had run through the Big Shot with the new Corrugated TIEF...such a cool texture! On the Whisper White background panel, I stamped the herringbone image from the Gallery Grunge stamp set in Crumb Cake ink, as well as the wagon wheel, grass and star in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake respectively.

I layered the stamped woodgrain panel onto the stamped background piece, sandwiching a bit of the new chicken wire embellishment between them. The sentiment is from the Country Road stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso with a hint of the herringbone patten in the background. I added one of the new galvanized clips and some linen thread to finish the look.

On the inside of the thick Whisper White card base, I stamped more grass and another wagon wheel, as well as a sentiment from the Country Road stamp set, all in Early Espresso ink.

I love that this card would suit not only fall birthdays, but really any time of year with the country theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by this week. Do you realize that the new Holiday Catalogue goes live one week from today??? That's some seriously exciting stuff! If you don't yet have a hard copy of this fabulous catalogue and would like one, drop me a quick note HERE and I'll hook you up. In the meantime, have a great week and a super long weekend!

A Little Bit of Fall...

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. We are still in the midst of renovations and they aren't exactly going as planned. Just as they were finishing up the drywall in the basement (where my expanded classroom space will be) we discovered a new leak. My hubby opened up the drywall to find another HUGE crack in our foundation about 8 feet to the left of the one we had repaired last week! UGH! My dream of being done with this reno by Labour Day has gone up in smoke...or drywall dust! I am DYING to get back into my space and create! I did manage to put together a pretty fall themed card using the new Falling For Leaves bundle from the Holiday Catty...check it out:

This was the first time I cracked open the new Tin Tile TIEF and all I can say is WOW! it is fantastic! It pairs perfectly with the dies in the Detailed Leaves Thinlits. In fact, the embossing folder and dies do all of the work on this card.

I die-cut the leaf and a leaf frame from copper foil and heat embossed the sentiment from the Falling for Leaves stamp set in copper as well. I used the Stitched Shapes framelits to die-cut the sentiment and adhered everything to a 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla panel that I had embossed using the Tin Tile TIEF. By way of embellishment, I added some Tea Room ribbon, a copper trinket leaf and a few copper sequins. Speaking of which, have you see the new Take Your Pick tool?? It makes dealing with those itty bitty sequins a breeze...but I digress...

I mounted my embossed panel on a thick Very Vanilla card stock base and then stamped the detailed leaf from the Falling for Leaves stamp set inside using Cajun Craze ink. Super simple, but it leaves lots of space to write.

This card literally took me 10 minutes to put together...super quick, yet elegant...gotta love that! Remember all of the new products will be available September 5th (or NOW if you join my Stamping Symphony today!) Have a great week!
