Avant Garden Birthday

Whew! What a busy weekend that was. On Saturday I hosted my annual Sale-a-bration Open House and it was such fun! There were yummy treats, lots of  give-aways, make-n-takes and, of course, displays of new product and projects. Today I want to share a project that has me falling in love with a Sale-a-bration stamp set that at first I wasn't too crazy about...

Can you guess which stamp set I used? Lol...the title of this post is a bit of a hint ;) It is the Avant Garden set on page 5 of the Sale-a-bration brochure. When I first saw this set I thought it was "just another flower set", but once I started playing with it, I am loving the possibilities! Here I stamped the blossom image several times in Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride ink. I added some spatters in Smoky Slate (stamped off once) and the flower centres in Smoky Slate (full strength). The sentiment is also stamped in Smoky Slate ink. So simple and so pretty! Once I had stamped everything, I die-cut the centre using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and layered it behind a scalloped circle in Blushing Bride.

I added some silver metallic thread behind the layered circles and then adhered it to my card using dimensionals. The front panel is matted on a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Smoky Slate card stock and then mounted on a thick Whisper White card stock base. I added some bling with a few rhinestones.

On the inside I stamped some more blossoms as I did on the front, leaving lots of space for a heartfelt message.

    1. Thank you Susan. This was actually the LAST SAB item I ordered (and only because I already have several of the others!). It just goes to show that you need to look past the obvious to see the possibilities. :)
