More Northern Lights!

Last week I showed you a card I designed using the Northern Lights technique.  Today I have another one I made, which I CASE'd from a design by Heidi Baks that I saw on Pinterest.

This is the card I actually did with my techniques group last week.  The technique really is quite simple and pretty hard to mess up, since the Northern Lights never quite look the same twice!  Check out the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for a detailed how-to.  I followed it pretty closely. The nice thing about this card is that it gave me a chance to review masking with my group as well!

Aside from the inks, card stock and White Christmas stamp set, the only embellishment I used was a single Smokey Slate Candy Dot on my sentiment banner.

On the inside I used additonal stamps from the White Christmas set and coloured the little stars with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.
I'm quite happy to say that I am done with Christmas cards for another year!  I still have a few samples left to show you, but I am on to new things!  My Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration pre-order will arrive this Friday, so watch out next week for tantalizing teasers.  All I can say is the Occasions Catalogue is OVER THE TOP AWESOME!!  I can't wait to play with all my new goodies!

Holiday Home for Christmas

Today I have another project from last week's Last Chance Holiday Card Buffet for you.  It is almost a direct CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest by Allison Okamatsu...

I started with some Pool Party card stock and adhered a piece of Typeset DSP to the top half.  I added a little punched heart border in Real Red, as well as half of a Tea Lace Doily.  The entire card front is matted on a piece of Real Red card stock and then mounted on a Crumb Cake card base.  The house, from the Holiday Home stamp set, is stamped in Memento Black ink on Crumb Cake card stock and die cut using the Homemade Holiday Framelits.  I stamped a second house on Real Red card stock and fussy cut the door.  I adhered the red door to the Crumb Cake house using a glue dot.

The tree is punched from Pear Pizzazz card stock using the Tree punch, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF, and embellished with a little champagne glimmer star.  The sentiment is from the Holiday Home set.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Bliss stamp set and added another punched tree and a wee little heart left over from punching the border for the front of the card.

Now for some stamping!  It is December 1st, and while many are just starting to think about Christmas, I am almost done with it.  I held my last Holiday card buffet last weekend and I have to admit, I am glad to see the end of Christmas cards.  Bring on the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration!!   But before I say farewell completely to Christmas, I have several more projects to show you in case you still need a little Holiday inspiration.  This one is from my buffet last week:

Christmas card featuring the Festival of Trees stamp set and All is Calm Washi Tape

 This one uses the retired Petals-a-Plenty TIEF for the background.  The band across the middle is a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock that I covered with alternating patterns of All is Calm Washi Tape.  I added a silver glimmer 2-1/2" circle and a 1-3/4" DSP circle, punched from the All is Calm DSP pack.  

 The tree, from the Festival of Trees set, is heat embossed in silver and punched with the Tree punch.  I added a wee sentiment strip, highlighted with some silver metallic ribbon, and a few Frosted Sequins.

 On the inside I added some more Washi Tape and another sentiment from the Festival of Trees set, stamped in Basic Gray and punched with the Modern Label punch.
