Cute Halloween

Happy Tuesday! Can you believe it is nearly the end of September?? This month has flown by and with it's end, comes October...my favourite month of the year! The weather is perfect, the trees are ablaze with colour and next weekend we get to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Thanksgiving. What could be better??

Of course, October also brings Halloween. Now I have to say that I am NOT a big Halloween gal...we don't decorate (besides the requisite jack-o-lantern) and our son is past the age of trick-or-treating, but I do love to make little treats for my kiddos at school and send cards to my niece and nephews. So I was beyond tickled to see the Cutest Halloween Suite in the Holiday Mini...

Check out this adorable card I made using products from the suite...

I am not a fan of scary, gory Halloween, but these cuties just make me smile! I fussy cut images from the Designer Paper...so many adorable patterns to choose from! I layered them on punched circles of a different pattern and then on a square of yet another pattern from the same pack. Seriously...this DSP is STINKIN' CUTE! Here's a closer look...

I layered everything on a background of Smoky Slate card stock and stamped some chubby little spiders in Basic Gray. The ribbon is actually black and white gingham that I coloured with my Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends.

On the inside I added a fun sentiment from the Cutest Halloween stamp set and another chubby spider.

Gorgeous Leaves

Happy last day of August! I'm back from my two-week-long sabbatical and have to say it was SO good to take time away to recharge before the craziness of the school year starts up again tomorrow. I am refreshed and raring to go with lots of fall-inspired projects over the coming weeks. This week I am all about the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle from the Holiday Mini catalogue.

Check out this elegant card I made...

As much as I love the rich deep regal tones of fall, there is something about leaves in mixed metallics that is so clean and elegant. Here, I've embossed my Very Vanilla background panel using the Timber embossing folder and then stamped the larger spatter stamp from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set in Crumb Cake ink. I added some beautiful die-cut leaves, cut from the Brushed Metallic foil sheets. The sentiment is from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set and is heat embossed in gold and then punched using the Label me Lovely punch.

I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots, again, mixing up the metals to coordinate with the leaves.

It doesn't take a ton of effort to create beautifully elegant projects with this bundle. Join me for my Facebook Live today at 5 pm ET over on my business page for more with these fabulous products. If you miss me live, the recording will be available on my YouTube channel later this evening.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...have a fabulous week!

Elegantly Said and a new Online Class

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. This week is a tough one for me as my hubby and I were supposed to have been in Maui for the Stampin' Up! incentive trip. Sadly, being in Canada and in lockdown, we are unable to travel, so we and the other 40+ Canadian achievers, as well as those from the European and South Pacific, have to watch from afar as US achievers who were able to travel get spoiled without us. It feels a little like Cinderella not being allowed to attend the ball, but my fairy godmother forgot to show up. :(

So, to cheer myself up, I play with paper and ink! This week I am all about the Elegantly Said bundle from the new Annual Catalogue. The entire suite is utterly gorgeous with stunning metallic papers, a lovely stamp set and super-versatile punch. Check out this pretty...

There is so much yummy on this card it's hard to know where to start! I began with an embossed Very Vanilla panel for the background. I used the STUNNING new Pretty Flowers embossing folder. This was the first time I cracked it open and WOW...what a stunner!

The DSP panel is from the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP pack. It comes with a white background, making it perfect for the direct-to-paper technique to add beautiful colour. Here I used Blushing Bride ink and love the look with the gold foil.

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold on a Very Vanilla scalloped rectangle die-cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I added little hints of the paisley image from the stamp set in Blushing Bride in the corners. Behind the sentiment, I added a floral die-cut made with the Artistic Dies. I used the new Rose Gold Specialty paper and wow...I need to order more of that stuff! By way of embellishment, I added some Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon and a few Gold Metallic Pearls.

On the inside of the Very Vanilla card base I stamped some flowers in Blushing Bride ink. I omitted a sentiment for now, as it could work for a wedding, anniversary or bridal shower.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others in today's Live @ Five video over on my Facebook Business page at 5 pm ET. I hope you'll join me, as I'll also be giving a sneak peek at the projects for my new online class featuring this suite as well! You can read all about the details of this class on my Upcoming Classes & Events page. If you miss me live you can catch the replay shortly afterwards on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for stopping by this week. Have a great one!
