Cute Halloween

Happy Tuesday! Can you believe it is nearly the end of September?? This month has flown by and with it's end, comes October...my favourite month of the year! The weather is perfect, the trees are ablaze with colour and next weekend we get to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Thanksgiving. What could be better??

Of course, October also brings Halloween. Now I have to say that I am NOT a big Halloween gal...we don't decorate (besides the requisite jack-o-lantern) and our son is past the age of trick-or-treating, but I do love to make little treats for my kiddos at school and send cards to my niece and nephews. So I was beyond tickled to see the Cutest Halloween Suite in the Holiday Mini...

Check out this adorable card I made using products from the suite...

I am not a fan of scary, gory Halloween, but these cuties just make me smile! I fussy cut images from the Designer Paper...so many adorable patterns to choose from! I layered them on punched circles of a different pattern and then on a square of yet another pattern from the same pack. Seriously...this DSP is STINKIN' CUTE! Here's a closer look...

I layered everything on a background of Smoky Slate card stock and stamped some chubby little spiders in Basic Gray. The ribbon is actually black and white gingham that I coloured with my Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends.

On the inside I added a fun sentiment from the Cutest Halloween stamp set and another chubby spider.

Now, at first glance this suite may appear to be kid-focused, but I'm here to tell you it is perfect for just about anyone. I mean seriously, who wouldn't love to receive this fun card in the mail??
I challenged myself to use several different patterns from the Designer Paper pack...I love how well they all work together. My adorable little gift-bearing snail is stamped in Basic Gray ink and then coloured with Light Flirty Flamingo, Light Bermuda Bay, Light Real Red, Dark Daffodil Delight and Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends. I used the coordinating Snail Dies to cut him out and then popped him up on a die-cut postage stamp from the same die set.

To stamp my sentiment, I used Real Red and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write markers so that I could highlight the word SNAILED...I love puns! I added some white baker's twine and itty bitty resin hearts to embellish and step up the cuteness factor just a little.

On the inside, I added a Basic White card stock panel and adhered some adorable little snail friends that I fussy-cut from the DSP. So, so cute!!

I demonstrated this card and two others using this suite in my weekly live video over on my Facebook Business page. You can catch the replay, posted on my YouTube channel, below:

Peace & Joy

Happy Tuesday! Can you believe we are nearly at the end of October?? This year has felt like an eternity, while also flying by...how is that possible?? As we near the end of the month I am kicking my Christmas card planning and design into high gear. This week I am featuring the awesome Peace & Joy bundle from the August-December Mini catalogue...check it out:

Here is a pretty, non-traditional holiday card that could be sent to just about anyone...

Non-traditional christmas card

I had some great fun with Frost White Shimmer Paint and Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight reinkers to create  the shimmery background on this card. I know it is hard to see in the photo, but it has a beautiful sheen that I absolutely love...

Non-traditional Christmas card

I used the sparkly images from the Peace and Joy stamp set on the background, inking them with both Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight ink. The sentiment is stamped using the ombre technique, and then die-cut using the Joy Dies. I love that those dies create so many different layered sentiment looks!

Non-traditional Christmas card

I added some Misty Moonlight/White/Silver metallic twine and a little Glitter Star Ornament behind the sentiment, as well as some Elegant Faceted Gems to add extra sparkle and shine.

Non-traditional Christmas card

On the inside of my Misty Moonlight card base,  I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped another sentiment from the Peace & Joy stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink, as well as some more sparkle images in Seaside Spray. Although I made this as a Christmas card, it could easily be sent to anyone, whether they celebrate Christmas or not, by simply changing the inside sentiment...gotta love versatility!

Here is the video in which I demonstrate this card and two others using this awesome bundle. Included in the video description on my YouTube channel are all of the measurements:

Thanks so much for stopping by today...I hope you have a spectacular week!
