Follow Your Art...new Online Class!

Happy Monday! It is a holiday here, which means hubby is home and we are hoping to get some yard work done. This is a bittersweet long weekend, as it officially marks the countdown to back-to-school. Four weeks from tomorrow is the first day...but there is still lots of summer left to enjoy!

I spent some time last week playing with the Follow Your Art suite and boy, did I have fun! So much so that I've designed a new online class for you!
I think this may be my favourite online class yet! Why wouldn't it be...it's all about crafting!! The class includes three standard cards, one awesome fun-fold card and a cute craft room decor piece. It seriously is so much fun! I'll be showcasing the projects in this week's Tuesday Live @ Five video, so be sure to tune in tomorrow at 5:00 pm ET. In the meantime, you can check your stash and see how many of the supplies you'll need for the class you already own. Here's the list:

Like all of my online classes, they are free with a $60 order in my webstore using the Host Code: X2CWFMCW
This class is available only until August 15th, so order soon!

Now for another cute project using this suite...check it out:

One of my favourite things to add to my projects is bling and this card is a tribute to that. I used the sequin image from the It Starts With Art stamp set to stamp the background panel and then coloured them with my Stampin' Blends. I also added some Wink of Stella so the stamped sequins are almost as sparkly as the real thing!

The sentiment is stamped in black and die-cut using a new Holiday Catalogue sneak peek! The dies are called Ornate Frames and let me tell you, they are uh-MAZING! So many awesome label shapes to choose from! I layered the sentiment on a 2" circle punched from the Follow Your Art DSP, which I then layered on a starburst punched from silver glimmer paper. Of course I couldn't resist adding more sparkle, so I brushed the DSP with Wink of Stella ;)

I added more shimmer and sparkle with some silver metallic thread and a few rhinestones in amongst the stamped ones.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel stamped with more sequins, coloured and glitzed and on the front.

I love the sweet simplicity of this card. I'll be demonstrating it, along with two others in tomorrow's Live @ Five video...you definitely don't want to miss it! If you do, you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab above later in the week.

Have a super week...thanks for stopping by :)

See a Silhouette

Happy Monday! Can you believe it is already the last Monday of July? Summer is half over and I need it to SLOW DOWN!  I am not ready for back to school and cooler weather yet!

This week I am featuring the gorgeous See a Silhouette suite from the Annual Catalogue...

I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous designer paper in this suite...and I am a HUGE sucker for word dies...and dandelions ;) There truly is so much to love in this suite...I can't stop playing with it! Here is a card I will be featuring in this week's Live @ Five video...

Did I mention how much I love the designer paper? Every sheet is full of vibrant colour, imitating the look of the new Pigment Sprinkles without the mess! This particular pattern reminded me of satellite images one sometimes sees of the earth. Since we are still on a high from our travels this summer, this adventure-themed card kind of made itself.

I stamped the silhouette image in Night of Navy ink on a Stitched Nested Labels die-cut and then added the partial sentiment, which I inked using my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker. Both the stitched circle and the die-cut word are cut from gold foil card stock.

I embossed the gold foil circle using the Subtle embossing folder...I absolutely love the look of it! Although it doesn't really show in the photo, this whole card shimmers, as I flicked my clear Wink of Stella all over the card front. That is fast-becoming one of my favourite techniques!

On the inside of the card I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped the silhouette image again in Night of Navy ink and another sentiment from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

As I mentioned above, I'll be demonstrating this card and two others (including a REALLY cool fun-fold) in my Live @ Five video over on Facebook this week. I hope you'll join me, but if you miss the live broadcast you can catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab above.

Thanks for stopping by this week...have a great one!

It's Christmas in July!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. It has been terribly hot and humid here. Saturday was THE WORST, but then the storms came through and Sunday was simply perfect. I took a rare afternoon off, lounging on the deck and reading a novel...it was so nice to have some downtime!

As hot as it has been, it is hard to think about cold weather, snow and Christmas, but it will come sooner than we all might like. This week I am hosting my annual Christmas in July event and I thought I would make the whole week all about holiday cards. My featured product this week is the Lots of Cheer stamp set from the Annual Catalogue...

Lots of Cheer (Item #149503)
This set is new this year and is perfect if you're like me and love to colour!  Check out this simple fun-fold card I made...

For this card I pulled out my Noble Peacock Specialty DSP...it is so beautiful! The focal image is heat embossed in silver and then coloured using the Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends combo, as well as Light Smokey Slate. I used the Stitched Shapes dies to die-cut the white oval and then the Layering Ovals dies to cut the scalloped silver foil oval mat.

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. I added some gorgeous reversible ribbon and a couple Noble Peacock Rhinestones for extra shimmer and shine. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the darker parts of the ornament, making it sooooo pretty!

On the inside I added a Whisper White layer, on which I stamped another sentiment from the Lots of Cheer set in Pretty Peacock ink and added a 1/2" strip of scrap DSP along the bottom edge.

I'll be demonstrating this card and two others using the Lots of Cheer stamp set in tomorrow's Tuesday Live @ Five video. I hope you'll join me, but if you can't, be sure to catch the replay on my YouTube channel or on the Video Tutorials tab above later in the week.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a spectacular week...and merry Christmas (in July!)
