Now for a project...are you sick of cards using the Swirly Bird bundle yet? Hope not, because I have one more to share with you. Then I promise I'll showcase some of the other thousands of fabulous products in the new catty. This is another one we'll be making at my class that features this bundle next week end...

Can you believe how many different images you can create with this set? The kit is yet another fun and versatile one. Here I've stamped the kite in Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach ink and then fussy cut it out. The string is also stamped in Dapper Denim and the little bitty bows are Peekaboo Peach. I love those two new In-colours together! The clouds are punched from vellum using the Tree Builder and Cupcake Builder (retired) punches.

My favourite thing about this card is the background. I REALLY wanted to use the new Seaside TIEF with it's wavy pattern, but alas, my new catalogue order hadn't arrived yet; so I had to improvise. I diecut some scrap card stock using the long wavy Thinlit in the Swirly Scribbles set and then used it as a stencil. I daubered Dapper Denim ink to create a wavy pattern...and I love the way it turned out! I added a diecut piece in silver foil over top and it looks just like a gust of wind blowing my kite along. The sentiment is from the Love & Affection stamp set and is stamped in Dapper Denim ink and die cut using the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits. I added a bit of silver metallic thread for some sparkle.

On the inside I added a Whisper White panel on which I stamped another of the sentiments from the Love & Affection set and added another kite.

Paper Pumpkin to the Rescue!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend! Mine was pretty low key, as both I and my husband are suffering from a nasty sinus cold that is making the rounds. Not much fun, and not much stamping happened. However I did manage to get some Valentine's treat holders made for my son's party coming up this Thursday. Because I was feeling so crummy I turned to my January Paper Pumpkin kit for inspiration.  Here is the end result:

I am so happy with the way these turned out, mainly because they were relatively quick and easy to make. Because I needed 30 treat holders, I needed to make my kit stretch as far as possible. So I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to die-cut the scalloped hearts from card stock. I drew the colour scheme from the colours in the kit: Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate. I adhered the patterned-paper hearts that came in the kit to the card stock scalloped hearts I had cut to create a little pocket to hold a treat. Then I decorated each heart with some of the banners that came in the kit, as well as the sequin trim and twine that was also included. The plain wooden mini clothespins came in the kit.  The Watermelon Wonder one in the following photo is from the All Boxed Up project kit and is perfect for this project!

I used the Hello You Thinlits to die cut the word "happy" from coordinating shades of card stock and adhered the die-cut word using the Fine-tip glue pen. The "Valentine's Day" sentiment is from the (retired) Good Greetings stamp set. I stamped it using Watermelon Wonder ink. The little silver glimmer heart is die cut using the Hearts Collection Framelits.

The final touch was a few silver heart sequins from the Metallics Assortment, which I also adhered using the Fine-tip glue pen. Now to get out and buy some treats to fill these pretties!

Pumpkin In the Bag

Happy Friday!  I know I've not been around much the past couple of weeks.  Please bear with me, as our family is going through some challenging changes of late.  My stamping time has been very limited, not to mention the fact that my stamping space still hasn't completely recovered from our flood.  I am doing my best to stay on top of things but when challenges arise, it's the fun stuff that tends to get pushed aside.  I have a couple more weeks of craziness to get through and then (hopefully!) things will settle down again.

I am so loving the latest Paper Pumpkin kits!  The March kit was so much fun.  As usual I made one sample just as shown in the instructions and then I played a little...check it out:

February Paper Pumpkin project.  The kit contatined FIVE gift bags and tons of accessories to decorate them.

I made this bag and three others like it to give to my monthly Techniques Group ladies.  I thought it would be a cute way for them to take their projects and technique cards home with them and I knew they would appreciate the little surprise :)  (I was right!!)  The March kit included five generously-sized, heavy-weight gift bags, pre-printed letters, sheets of self-adhesive die cuts, twine and clothespins, as well as two background stamps and an ink spot.  A great value!
Then I decided to use a few pieces from the Heartfelt Banner Sale-a-bration kit...

I added the little canvas hearts on either end of the little banner.  Not much, but it adds a little something extra. 
Then I stepped it up even further.  I found some plain Kraft gift bags in my stash and added more pieces from the Heartfelt Banner Kit...

Fun, huh?  I love those little pom-poms!  They add whimsical pops of colour against the plain background.

Gotta Love Leftovers!

Paper Pumpkin Love...and Weekly Deals!

Last Friday my November Paper Pumpkin arrived.  I have to say this is my favourite one yet!  Check out the cute Christmas cards I put together:

I had such fun playing with that adorable star garland!  Here is a closer look at each card:

This is the one that the kit shows you how to make...cute, eh?

This one is similar, but I cut up one of the card bases and mounted it on a Very Vanilla card base instead.  I used the Wishing You a Merry Christmas sentiment on the inside of the card.

I used the other half of the card base I cut up for the previous card on this one and mounted it on a Real Red card base.  I cut the banner into a square and turned the orientation to landscape.

This one is my favourite.  I again used a Real Red card base, but added an embossed Very Vanilla panel as well.  I used part of one of the card bases in the kit to mat the focal image.

Now, believe it or not, after making these four cards I still had lots of supplies leftover.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see what I did with them!

Wahoo! Paper Pumpkin

Last week my magical red Paper Pumpkin box arrived and I made time this weekend to play with the contents.  I have to say, this is one of my favourite PP kits yet!

Then, of course, I had to add a little something.  I used nesting circles cut quickly and easily with the Circles Collection Framelits...

I had some fun with the inside of this one too!

Finally, keeping with the bulls-eye idea, I added some texture:

I really love the stamps in this kit.  WAHOO! is something I say all the time..even my 6-year-old son recognized the word!  It was so nice to take time and just have fun creating this weekend...it has certainly been a while!  I hope you make time to create this week...have a good one!!
