Birthday Butterflies CASE

Happy Friday!!  This week has been SO long...I couldn't be happier to see it end!  My poor boy has been sick with the stomach flu again and it has been a long haul.  Looking forward to the weekend and some R & R (and time to stamp!).
Today I have a project I CASE'd at the request of a client who asked me to design projects for her upcoming Ladies Retreat at her church.  She found this project on Pinterest and asked me to make kits for the women on her retreat to make.  The original design is by Carol Payne...I changed the colour scheme slightly to accommodate the inks my client has in her collection...

I began with a piece of Whisper White card stock on which I stamped the spatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Lost Lagoon ink.  I also stamped the lines in the lower right corner using Lost Lagoon ink.  The sentiment, from the Express Yourself stamp set, is stamped in Soft Suede ink.  The stamped panel is mounted on a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock before being adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.

The butterflies are punched from vellum using the Elegant Butterfly and the Bitty Butterfly punches.  I also layered the two larger vellum butterflies with smaller ones punched from the Moonlight DSP stack.  I added Linen Thread and some rhinestones for embellishment.

On the inside I stamped the spatter image again using Lost Lagoon ink.  I added a couple more punched butterflies and the sentiment, from the Endless Birthday Wishes set, in Lost Lagoon ink.

In case you missed it earlier this week, the Retirement List has posted AND the online Clearance Rack was update.  Be sure to check out both this weekend for some great deals!  Have a good one!!

Mosaic Embossing Madness and Still More Sale-a-bration Freebies!

Today I have a project I designed for a private class I ran last weekend.  The hostess had seen a sample on Pinterest and asked if we could do something similar for her event.  The original card was designed by Erin Gonzales.  I pretty much CASED Erin's design exactly...

Any occasion card featuring the Mosaic Madness stamp set, with sentiment from Express Yourself (retired) hostess set.
The only changes I made to Erin's design were to add the extra row of Crushed Curry at the top and the rhinestone gems in the centre of each punched mosaic.  I thought is rather timely to showcase this project because the Mosaic Madness stamp set is currently on sale in the Weekly Deals!  What a great time to pick up this versatile set at a discount.
Now, this project has LOTS of heat embossing involved!  The group I was working with were fairly new to the technique, but were pros by the end of the night!  I used Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, and Crushed Curry embossing powders on Basic Black card stock.  Of those embossing powders, only the latter two are still available...I've been hoarding saving the others for a while now:)  I stamped the mosaic image once in the corresponding ink colours, all of which ARE still available :)  I used the coordinating Mosaic Punch to punch each stamped image out.

The sentiment is heat embossed in white.  I matted the front panel on a piece of Pool Party card stock before mounting it on a Whisper White card base.  I added some rhinestones that I coloured using my beloved Blendabilities.
I didn't take a photo of the inside of this one because it was one of those rare occasions I left the inside blank to allow lots of space to write a personal message.  Sometimes it's nice to have room to write a few heartfelt words of encouragement.

Now, are you ready for more exciting news?  Stampin;' Up! has just announced even more items available for FREE for the last few weeks of Sale-a-bration!  These are regular catalogue items that they are making available to replace the Blendabilties, which are no longer available.  Check out the full selection HERE

Wedding Wishes

We are invited to a wedding at the end of this month.  The colour scheme is black, white and red, so I thought I'd be pro-active and get the card made ahead of time.

Bridal card featuring the So Very Grateful stamp set with sentiment from the Express Yourself hostess set.
I love the way the images from the So Very Grateful stamp set looked embossed in white on black card stock!  I had planned on taking this card in a completely different direction, but shifted gears after doing the heat embossing.  It really is a super-simple card, in terms of layout and design.  I added a bit of (retired) Real Red satin ribbon and a black glimmer brad, not to mention some rhinestones in the centres of the flowers.

Inside view with sentiments from Love & Laughter
On the inside I reversed the images, stamping in black on white card stock, and added two sentiments from the Love and Laughter stamp set.  Unfortunately we are not able to attend the wedding...hope this card expresses our best wishes for us!
