Wintery Card

Happy Halloween!  I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here they are calling for snow flurries for trick-or-treat time!  I'll be bundling my little monster up for sure...I wonder if we can work snow pants and gloves into the costume??
To reflect today's weather I have a frosty, wintery project for you...

Christmas card featuring the Tags 4 You stamp set (retired) and Northern Flurry TIEF.
This is a really quick and easy card I designed for a recent card buffet.  I embossed both the front and inside panels with the Northern Flurry TIEF.  I added some Whisper White Organza ribbon and some silver metallic ribbon over which I layered the label from the Tags 4 You (retired) stamp set.  I heat embossed the image in silver, punched it with the Bracket label punch and then layered it on a 1-3/4" circle punched from silver glimmer paper.  I layered the whole thing on a Smoky Slate card base and then added a few rhinestones to the centre of the embossed snowflakes, and a couple of Frosted Sequins around the label.

As mentioned above, I embossed the inside panel as well, catching less of the pattern to allow space to write.  The sentiment is from the More Merry Messages (retired) stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray ink.
I hope your Halloween is a sweet one and that you have a fabulous weekend.  Be sure to check back on Sunday for the latest sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps!

Another Day, Another Stamp-a-Stack!

So many Christmas cards!  I have a number of private Stamp-a-Stack events coming up in the next couple of weeks, so I am busily preparing for them.  Here is one of several cards I designed...

Christmas card featuring the Wonderful Wreath (132748) and Tags 4 You (131823) stamp sets
As with all of my Stamp-a-Stack designs, I kept this one pretty simple to facilitate making mulitples in a hurry.  I started by stamping the wreath in Old Olive and then die cut it with the Circles Collection Framelits.  I matted it on a larger circle in Cherry Cobbler.  The label is stamped in Cherry Cobble ink and then punched with the Bracket Label punch and adhered in the centre of the wreath using dimensionals.  The bow is fashioned with a glimmer brad holding it in the centre and adhered to the wreath using a glue dot.  The DSP background is from the Season of Style DSP stack.  Quick and easy and, hopefully, a hit!

Happy First Day of School!

I had hoped to have a cute back-to-school project to show you today, but alas, I spent the entire weekend in the school prepping for opening day and didn't put ink to paper once!  The best laid plans....yadda yadda.  Instead I have a Christmas card I did last week at my Holiday Head Start Stamp-a-Stack.

Holiday card featuring the Tags 4 You bundle(133294) and Season of Style Designer Washi Tape (132155) and DSP stack (132181)
Since my ladies were making 12 cards each in one evening, I kept the design pretty simple.  Just a little stamping, some Washi and layering and done.

I love how easy it is to create coorinated projects with Stampin' Up! products...everything matches!

Inside view with sentiment from the Wishing You stamp set (131751)
I tied the inside to the front by adding a little more Washi tape...an easy way to add colour and texture just about anywhere.  Have you Washi'ed yet??

Brand new product!

Introducing....

The Envelope Punch Board!!
133774
This fabulous new tool is finally here!  We first saw this at Convention and let me tell you, it is awesome!  (Like, make-66-different-sizes-of-envelopes-with-one-tool-awesome!)  Here are the details:

  • It creates totally customizable envelopes in up to 66 different sizes (not to mention a million different color and pattern options depending on the paper you want to use). Even tried and true envelope sizes will only take you moments to create!
  • It's super easy to use.  It looks intimidating at first glance, but when you realize that all you have to do is measure for the first punch and from there you just turn and score you'll go crazy (in a good way).
  • It's small and lightweight.  It's small and light enough that you could use it while watching a soccer match, at a park, at a friend's for craft night-anywhere.
  • It even has a slick scoring tool as well as a punch that lets you create rounded corners on your envelopes.
  • It's easy to keep it all together; the stylus storage compartment and two punches are designed into the tool so you don't have a bunch of little pieces to keep track of (even the instructions are printed right on the tool so you won't lose them!).
  • The price is terrific-especially for a tool that does so much!
  • It will be in next year's annual catalog, so it's here to stay.
Are you excited yet?  Still not convinced?  Check out this video and you'll see why I'm so darned excited about this tool!

Fantastic or what??

Now for a little project to get you thinking about Halloween.  Yup...the decorations and costumes are out in all the stores, so it must be time, right?  This is a project we did at my monthy Team meeting last month:

Halloween Card featuring the Tags 4 You Bundle and Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape.
This is another quickie, made super simple with the Washi tape.  No cutting or measuring...just stick and go!  If only they were all this easy!

More Sketchy Washi

I had such fun creating yesterday's project I decided to do a similar one with a Christmas theme:

Holiday card featuing the Tags 4 You bundle (133294), and Season of Style Designer Washi Tape (132155)
I mentioned  how quick and easy yesterday's sample was, so was this!

Inside Sentiment from the Oh, Goodie! stamp set
This is definitely going to be in my class line-up this Fall.  Super fun and super easy.  Here are some quick tips:
I love this  month's sketch so much I couldn't stop creating projects with it!  I have one more sample to show you tomorrow...stay tuned!

More Sketch Inspiration

Well, I'm home from my week at the lake.  Summer is officially over as this week is all about school:  getting both Max and I ready to head back and getting my classroom and curricula in shape for my students' return.  While I am a bit sad to see summer end, we are heading into my favourite season.  Today I have a decidedly Fall card for you...

Halloween card featuring the Tags 4 You bundle (133294) and Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape (132156)
I based this design on this month's inspiration sketch which (in case you've  forgotten) looks like this:

I couldn't resist pulling out my (retired) Spider Web TIEF for this card...it was just too perfect!

This is the quickest, easiest card ever, thanks to the Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape.  It literally took me 10 minutes to put together.  Here are some tips for you:
  • I applied the Washi tape before I embossed the card stock so that the tape would take on the embossed pattern
  • I used Naturals White card stock and then sponged very lightly with Basic Gray ink
  • The label is heat embossed in black on Pumpkin Pie card stock and then  punched out with the Bracket Label punch.
  • The inside sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set (122652) and is also heat embossed in black.  I die cut the label using the Chalk Talk Framelits, which I then trimmed.
If you haven't yet tried this sketch, what are you waiting for??  There is more inspiration HERE...and be sure to stop by tomorrow for another sample.
